Madness and Magic

Madness and Magic is a joint exhibition exploring the themes of magic and madness through folklore, ceramics, pen drawings, poetry and lino-cuts, featuring work by Westmeath writer and ceramicist Caroline Barry and West Kerry writer Emer Fallon.
Caroline Barry is the author of two children’s books and a gothic novel and her work has been published in Ireland and Scotland. She has been the recipient of an Arts Council grant and was writer in residence for Laois County Council. She recently published an illustrated book of aphorisms called What Gothic Girls Know and is currently illustrating The Lay of the Land by Irish Independent journalist Fiona O’Connell, published May 2019.
Emer Fallon is a fiction and poetry writer whose work has been published in The Irish Times, Poetry Ireland Review, and the Stinging Fly, and shortlisted for the Bridport Prize, Listowel Poetry Prize and the Fish Short Story and Poetry Prize. Her first poetry collection, The Memory Bank, will be published by Salmon Poetry in 2020.
