Ger Wolfe  – Album Launch
Joining Ger on the night is drummer and long time musical collaborator Martin Leahy. Expect a great night’s banter and music of the highest calibre.
The new compilation CD is  quirkily called “Ger Wolfe and The New Skylark’s Melody Bright and The Favourite Sparrow”.  Including the brand new single “Love is in The Lost and Found”, this is a collection of some of Ger’s finest work to date, highlighting  the sheer depth of original material he has recorded with ‘The New Skylarks’ having a back catalogue of seven full albums to date.
No stranger to West Kerry, Ger has been travelling west to sing since appearing in the very first series of ‘Other Voices’ at the start of the century. “Without venues like Nellie Fred’s  original music would die a death, these are brilliant places to have in any area, run by people who love the music, they are like a gem in Ireland’s crown”, says the singer.
Expect songs like ‘The Curra Road’, ‘Standing in Doorways (also from ‘Other Voices’ series 1), the Africana influenced ‘I Have Been Loved’ and the likes of  ‘The Lark of Mayfield’ and “Heaven Paints her Holy Mantle Blue”. With a quirky sense of humour, great singing and a highly unusual finger-picking guitar style , “Ger Wolfe has his own unique accent, his own special voice that takes us to the heart of the song” (Philip King)
