‘Gallery Goes… to Dingle’

Peter Fallon was born in 1951. In 1970 he founded The Gallery Press. His books include News of the World: Selected and New Poems, The Georgics of Virgil (Oxford World’s Classics), The Company of Horses and Strong, My Love (2014). A member of Aosdána and winner of the O’Shaughnessy Award, he lives in Loughcrew in County Meath.

Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh was born in Kerry and now lives in Cork. Her poem, ‘Filleadh ar an gCathair’, was chosen as Ireland’s EU Presidency Poem in 2013 and was shortlisted in 2015 for RTE’s ‘A Poem for Ireland’. She has published two collections in Irish, Péacadh and Tost agas Allagar. The Coast Road, a selection with translations into English by thirteen poets, was published in 2016 by The Gallery Press.

Tom French was born in Kilkenny in 1966. He received a bursaries in literature from An Chomhairle Ealaíon/The Arts Council, Ireland in 1999 and 2009. His first collection Touching the Bones (2001) was awarded the Forward Prize for Best First Collection. He has published three subsequent collections – The Fire Step, Midnightstown and The Way to Work (2016)  He lives with his family close to the coast of County Meath where he works in the local studies department of the County library service. He received the O’Shaughnessy Award for Poetry in 2016.
