Clodagh’s first solo exhibition. Working from her studio in Brandon, she has produced a body of work of figures of a different kind. Otherworldly, timeless, often masked. Hiding their physiology from the other crowd. The oil paintings explore figuration and abstraction in a search for the sweet spot.

Hehir and Noonan – Brides

Brides is primarily a black and white photographic installation. The model confronts the viewer, her head and torso are hidden under a white shroud. Hands, hair, a bear glove, and mask are signifiers to her persona. The artists are influenced by Irish mythology and old Irish text which show the presence of the powerful Irish woman, an allegorical figure who in many senses represented the spirit of the Earth itself, the anima mundi.

Former Professor of the History of Art, Trinity College, Roger Stalley will deliver a lecture on a number prominent sculptors who worked between approximately 900 and 1200AD. He will consider them as individual artists, with their own personalities, explaining how they set about their work and the practical problems they had to overcome, with a particularly interested in their displays of humour and fantasy.
