Polish Storytelling with Zuzanna Krzysztofik

During her stay last year at the literary residency in Dingle, Zuzanna Krzysztofik gathered material for short stories inspired by the local life of Ireland. Her goal was to uncover rich, untold narratives, crafting stories set in authentic locations that capture the unique character of the community. She also wove in Irish-Polish encounters, which, shaped by shared histories and contrasting backgrounds, lead to profound personal transformations and revolutions in the lives of the characters.

Zuzanna Krzysztofik – journalist-reporter and educator, based in Warsaw. A graduate of the Institute of Applied Linguistics at the University of Warsaw and the Institute of Ethnology at the Free University of Berlin. Since 2020, she has been running the association “Based in Warsaw”, whose mission is cultural education. She was staying in August 2024 in Dingle at the invitation of An Díseart as part of the Culture Moves Europe writer’s residency program.
