Beachcombers of Provincetown Exhibition

St James’s church and other venues around town

A  select group of Beachcombers from Provincetown, Massachusetts from diverse disciplines of art will represent and share their unique focuses. From the history of the oldest  Arts  colony in United States (Provincetown MA) to Plein Air painting around town at select  locations, select reading from Naturalist Dennis Minsky’s newest book, Peculiar and Superior, sharing insights to life spent  in a seaside village and its parallels to the Dingle Peninsula. A collaborative mural with Andrew Jacob (Great, great grandson of Rí an Oileáin) and Felipe Ortiz capturing elements of Blasket Life. Various Beachcomber members capturing illustrations and moments captured on the streets, pubs and music venues during Féile na Bealtaine 2026.

The Beachcombers’ Club was founded two years in 1916 as a place for men to exhibit work seriously and fraternize privately. Its 1916 constitution said its purpose was “to promote good fellowship among men sojourning or resident in or about Provincetown who are engaged in the practice of the fine arts or their branches” or “who are intimately connected with the promotion of the fine arts” (painting, etching, engraving, sculpture, architecture, designing, illustrating, writing, music and acting). “Good fellowship” was understood from the first to mean adolescent merriment.

My paintings and murals are a unique fusion of artistic themes, from representational views of urban scenery to my “Explosive Nature” series. My multicultural upbringing and travels between my native Colombia and the United States has helped me gain a wider perspective in my artistic interests. From Colombia’s vibrant culture, colors, sounds and dense natural scenery, to the States’ vast landscape and fast-paced urban environments, there are multiple elements I can pick from each location and merge into the pictorial and self-idealistic vision I’d like to represent.
