An evening of spoken word agus scéalaíocht, including a modern interpretation of the 11th century Book of Invasions and a new creation myth for Ireland.

Cathal Holden, scéalaí, is a poet and storyteller from the Dingle Peninsula. His words grow at the crossroads between the old world and the new, rooted in the Irish oral tradition of the seanchaí and branching into modern realms of spoken word and hip hop. Cathal writes for firesides and forests, for love lost and found, i gcoir stáitse féile agus shráid na cathrach araon.

Sionnachaí is the stage persona of Katie ní Mathúna, a beann fheasa, healer, witch and shaman from the island of Ireland. Her work is informed by a collective sense of homecoming – coming back to our bodies, back to our souls, back to the land and our human, animal, plant and spirit communities.

Is file agus scéalaí as Ceann Trá é Cathal Holden. Fásann a chuid focal ag an gcrosbhóthar idir an sean-domhan agus an domhan innui, fréamhaithe san dtraidisiún béiloideas agus ag craobhscaoileadh amach i na ríochtaí nua den fhocail labhartha agus hip hop. Scríobhann Cathal i gcoir thinte agus coillte, faoi an ghrá cailte agus aimsithe, i gcoir stáitse féile agus shráid na cathrach araon.

Is é Sionnachaí ainm stáitse de Katie ní Mathúna, bean fheasa, leighis, cailleach agus shaman ó oileán na hÉireann. Tá a scríobhneoireacht bunaithe ar mhothúchán comhchoiteann maidir le teacht abhaile – ag filleadh go dtí ár gcoirp,  ár n-anamacha, an talamh agus na bpobail dhaonna, ainmhithe, plandaí agus spriodeanna.
