In the tranquility of St James, be transported by the poetry of Luisa Castro and Dairena Ní Chinnéide accompanied by the haunting music of Su Garrido Pombo.
Ócáid filíochta, amhráin, fuaimeanna, teangacha agus ceol le filí Éireannacha agus ón nGailís. With words from the sea and song from the Mountain, Ceol Taoide is a celebration of Ireland’s and Galicia’s Atlantic Heritage. From the fisheries of Northern Galicia comes Luisa Castro’s Whales and Whales in English translation by poet Keith Payne (Skein Press, 2024). Accompanying them is the multi-award winning singer Su Garrido Pombo –as featured on The South Wind Blows– who will perform from her album Patios of Light and will read the Galician translations of Dairena Ní Chinnéide’s poems from With Foxgloves on our Fingers (Urutau, 2023).
