Subterranean Soul with very special guest Hewan Mulugeta at the Green Room ( Above John Benny’s on Sunday 5th May. Expect African grooves, Disco, house and everything in between.
Hewan Mulugeta is a Dublin-based Ethiopian DJ who is making waves throughout the Irish festival and music scene. She is an avid vinyl collector of all African grooves, with a particular emphasis on traditional and modern Ethiopian music from the 60’s & 70’s. As a selector her sets range from afro-funk, afrobeat, highlife to those rare finds from hours spent digging through a vast history of African music styles.
Along with her monthly radio show on Dublin Digital Radio, Hewan has performed for Donal Dineen’s Backstory, ATN, Body & Soul and The Cork Jazz Festival to name but a few. While also, playing alongside local and international artists such as Hailu Mergia, Def Nettle, Brian Cross (B+).

Subterranean Soul
Subterranean Soul is all about house, and this is his home. The alter ego of Dingle native John Fitzgerald, Subterranean Soul digs through a vinyl collection of deep grooves to funk, for a floor filled night from first needle drop to last orders.
Making his Other Voices debut in 2018, Subterranean Soul has since made a number of international appearances and residences including Groove Bar, Prague and Moovement Plzen Czech Rep.
