Documentary and presentation by the Belgian artist and puppeteer, Laura Elands, on her work and process followed by a Q & A session.
Laura Elands is a Dutch puppeteer and visual artist living in Brussels. Through her puppet theatre company, Théâtre de l’Heure Bleue, she explores themes related to human experiences using a visual language of puppet figures and materials that express feelings and sensations that can be difficult to put into words. Laura develops a lot of her puppetry work incorporating textile art, in particular felted wool. Her unusual way of creating theatre has led her to begin studying art therapy, which is giving further meaning to her personal art practice and will allow her to deepen her approach in giving artistic workshops as well as developing a future career as an art therapist.
