Anne Lyons, author of ‘The Story of Nano Nagle: A Life Lived on the Razor’s Edge joins us in the home of the Presentation Order here in Dingle to talk on the life of Nano Nagle, foundress of the Order. Nana Nagle was a pioneering woman who abandoned a life of privilege, position and wealth, to live and work in her beloved city of Cork, working in solidarity with those made destitute. Her deeply held belief in Christ led to a burning passion to help the marginalised, she dared not only to dream a better life for them but to make this seemingly impossible dream a lived reality. This was the great miracle of her life. At a time when the role of women in shaping society was severely restricted, she lived on the razor’s edge, a woman fearless before a tyrannical world.
Anne Lyons is a member of the Presentation Sisters, Ashbrook Gardens, and works as the Congregation Postulator for promoting the Cause of Venerable Nano Nagle. Anne was born in Thurles, County Tipperary where she completed her education with the Presentation Sisters. She joined the Union of the Sisters of the Presentation of BVM. She has ministered in Ireland, the U.S., Pakistan, Cambodia and Rome.
