NIYL is an Irish indie-pop artist whose music fuses cinematic electronic soundscapes with raw, intimate songwriting and a voice capable of both thunder and confession. Raised between the quiet intensity of Ireland’s west and the cultural pulse of Limerick city, he writes songs that feel both deeply personal and mythic in scope, reflections on identity, belonging, desire, faith, and transformation.

His debut album Parish Is Burning has quickly become one of the most critically celebrated Irish releases of its year. Awarded 9/10 by Hot Press and praised by The Irish Times as “an inspiring, defiant and intelligent piece of work,” the record unfolds as a two-act seasonal memoir charting emotional collapse, reckoning, and rebirth. Crafted over two years with producer Chris Bubenzer, it blends widescreen soul, orchestral textures, and atmospheric electronics into a sound that feels at once ancient and contemporary, Irish romanticism refracted through modern pop.

NIYL’s artistry extends powerfully to the stage. He has performed as a featured vocalist with the National Geographic Symphony Orchestra for Symphony for Our World, and his live shows, whether solo or with full band, are known for their emotional immersion and cinematic pacing. His performances alongside Cynthia Erivo in London and collaborations with artists such as Rufus Wainwright and Dermot Kennedy have further established him as a versatile and respected vocalist.

Radio and media support across Ireland, including airplay on RTÉ 2FM and Today FM, has helped propel his rise, while sold-out headline shows in Dublin and Limerick confirm a rapidly growing audience.

NIYL’s music does not simply tell stories, it transforms them into atmosphere. As his profile continues to ascend, he stands at the forefront of a new wave of Irish artists reshaping pop through poetry, emotional honesty, and cinematic ambition.
