Short documentary and Talk. Culture vs War by Taras Kompanichenko

• 6:00 PM Irish premiere of the documentary “Culture vs War. Taras Kompanichenko.The film tells the story of the leader of the Ukrainian band “Khorea Kozatska”, a famous kobzar, who from the first days of the large-scale Russian invasion joined the ranks of the Armed Forces and makes incredible efforts to win Ukraine.

One of the ideas of the project is to demonstrate that Ukrainian artists have never stood aside from the events in the country and are now, together with the entire people, fighting for our freedom and identity. Is é Kadim Tarasov stiúrthóir an tionscadail.

• 6.30pm Dr.Olesia Zhytkova– Candidate of Historical Sciences, Postdoctoral Researcher at Dublin City University human rights activist and teacher, lives in Cork.

This talk, “Ireland and Ukraine: Similar Pages of History” will tell about unexpected connections in the culture and history of both countries and will provide an opportunity to develop a community through strengthening mutual understanding.
