Beidh Sorcha sa sáipéal chun a meascán de foinn áille suaimhneacha agus liricí géara corraitheach a sheinm.
Sorcha Richardson’s debut album First Prize Bravery (2019) was the culmination of her experiences throughout young adulthood, a time during which she ventured from home in Dublin to New York, Los Angeles and then back again. Greeted by critical acclaim from Nylon, The Irish Times, The Guardian and BBC6 Music, comparisons were made with Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers et al, leading to a nomination for the Irish Choice Music Prize album of the year.
Her follow-up ‘Smiling Like an Idiot,’ (2022) written in her late grandparents living room, cemented her status as one of Ireland’s most exciting songwriters and lyricists. The album topped the Irish Independent Charts, reached number 4 in the Irish Album Charts and saw Richardson tour across North America, Europe and Australia, both as a headliner and as a special guest for Snow Patrol, Mitski and Dermot Kennedy. Shortly after its release, Ellie Goulding declared herself a fan and covered the album’s lead single Shark Eyes.
Since the release of Smiling like an Idiot, Sorcha relocated from Dublin to Ventry in West Kerry, where she wrote her highly anticipated third album, set for release 2026.
