Cú Roí Mac Daire – The druid of many faces

Written and Presented by Foinse
Is é an foinse an geata chuig an domhan thíos. Tabharfaidh ‘Foinse’ an lucht féachana isteach i seanlimistéir draíochta atá fós linn.

Foinse is a group of storytellers, musicians, artists and singers based in Corca Dhuibhne, who delve into the deep mythological stories held in the landscape that surround them. The retelling of the stories involves a connection with the emotions and passions that the myths invoke. Their performances explode with sensory delights encompassing poetic narration, haunting music, projected artwork and soaring chorus to explore myths in a captivating and immersive way.

Cú Roí Mac Daire the great druid of Kerry, was unjustly refused his fair share of the spoils of a raid with Cúchulainn & the men of Ulster. To get justice the druid stole the beautiful Blathnat and took her to his enchanted fortress high up on Caherconree, the mountain that still bears his name. Like the druid himself, the stronghold had many faces and each night the magic of Cú Roí would spin the mountain showing a different face.
